The Gigging Classical & Spanish Guitarist™
We’ll get you to DO THIS…
Play the Classical Guitar fluently instead of wondering what to do with your hands and playing standard, commonly used strumming and chord progressions that sound like most other guitar players…
Understand harmony so you can improvise with exotic scales and modes over interesting chord changes instead of using the same boring major, minor, and pentatonic scales and shapes, and most widely used common chord shapes that most people get stuck in…
Play confidently that Spanish sound and develop classical guitar music so that you can play as a soloist while learning how to improvise in these styles of this wonderfully rich and historically impactful music. Integrate the sound of Classical and Spanish guitar into your bands or learn to perform as a soloist, performing beautiful compositions that have been loved and performed for hundreds of years...
My plan is to help you learn solo classical and Spanish guitar music that's harmonically rich, deeply captivating, performed with passion, precision, and mastery.
If you’re here right now, it means you want my support to develop your techniques, your understanding of musical harmony, learning new music to perform as a soloist, understanding how to read music very well (if you want to), and improvising and creating new music in these genres. I’m here to help you do just that.
The End Goal Vision:
=> You’ll have full creative control of your guitar skills.
Perform confidently as a solo guitarist.
=> Evolve your finger-style playing to new heights of accuracy, passion, and grace.
Improvise and create solos using new modes and exotic scales.
=> Play with beautiful classical & Spanish guitar-specific techniques like Picado, Rasqueado, Tremolo, Pizzicato, Alzapua, and Abanico.
=> Understand new rhythms and styles like tangos, bolero, tientos, sevillanas, milonga, bulerias, rumba, and more!
=> You can also use the same ideas with a pick like famous guitarists John McLaughlin, Al Di Meola, Jesse Cook, Rodrigo y Gabriela, and The Gypsy Kings.
We’ll do this together WITHOUT YOU:
Having to read complicated sheet music. Although reading standard music notation will be covered, it is not required.
=> We will learn how to learn music in various ways and focus on integrating new music concepts into your current skills so that you can play with grace, ease, and “emotive-ness” without having to rely on sheet music.
Learning complex music theory that you don’t need.
=> We’re going to focus on the stuff that really matters, right from the beginning!
Learning lots of scales.
=> Yes, we will cover scales, but in a musical way that makes it easy to take some simple shapes and concepts that will allow you to play in different modes easily and transpose into different keys without having to know “all the notes!”
Playing technical exercises for hours and hours and hours a day.
Learning years of music theory before you can learn to apply it.
Practicing a bunch of drills and ideas and never actually playing something that sounds like real music.
=> Instead, we’re going to dive into Mastering Essential Techniques, Deepening Musical Understanding, and getting you to Performance Readiness.
The 3 Key Elements that make up The Gigging Classical & Spanish Guitarist method in this order:
Step 1. Mastering Essential Techniques:
First, you’ll get clarity on Mastering Essential Techniques and develop rock-solid Classical and Flamenco guitar techniques, including hand positioning, strumming, and picking patterns. This will be the foundation that will give you the sense and feeling of playing guitar easily and effortlessly, without the frustration of inconsistent progress in learning new music on the guitar.
This will help you consistently learn new music and concepts and integrate them into your music and performance. You’ll do this while avoiding the slow progress of method books, self-learning, finding qualified teachers, or using a school curriculum designed to stretch out the learning process to fit the length of the school term.
We’ll tackle it in a way that suits your unique style and personality, ensuring you don't feel confined or limited.
Once Mastering Essential Techniques is dialed in, we move to
Step 2. Deepen Musical Understanding:
Next, we gain a thorough understanding of chord progressions, improvisation, music reading (only what you need!), theory, and harmony specific to Classical and Flamenco guitar. This will amplify the progress of Mastering Essential Techniques, and it will quickly get you playing and understanding new music, and learning how to learn new music fast. You’ll be playing from your gut and not having to think about what you need to play. Let’s Deepen Your Musical Understanding so you can play and perform with feeling, easily and effortlessly, without spending hours a day trying to learn new things one at a time. You’ll be playing new, beautiful music from the beginning of the program. Then on to Step 3.
Step 3. Performance Readiness:
As your skills improve, you will finally focus on Performance Readiness. This lets you play and perform classical and Spanish guitar music with confidence. You’ll also have the tools and skills to consistently learn new music and apply it to your existing skills on the guitar. This will give you the gig readiness to perform as a classical guitarist or Spanish guitarist with amazing ability to be able to kick ass on stage or anywhere else. You’ll have the skill set to be a badass gigging classical guitarist!
These methods are how I’ve achieved a high level of guitar virtuosity that allows me to perform as a soloist, giving concerts and performing solo gigs regularly. I also perform with a Flamenco troupe with dancers, singers, and percussionists, as the only guitarist! I have also been hired as a soloist for orchestras, featured guitarist in musicals, and concerts performing with ensembles of up to 60 performers, and more! And I still perform as an electric guitarist in other groups and projects to play jazz, blues, rock, and heavy metal.
By focusing on The Most Essential Skills Of An Advancing Guitarist, I cut out the confusion of slow progress and overcame hurdles I’d had for years. This allowed me to achieve the skills and ability to reach the goal of being a confident professional classical and electric guitarist that most struggle to OR NEVER achieve.
This exclusive membership will take you through the process of achieving the skills and ability to be a confident Classical Guitarist yourself. By joining us, you’ll get my direct help in guitar progress tracking and development, enhancing your techniques, avoiding pitfalls that will hold you back, understanding and learning new music from the start, and learning stage skills and technology that will help you perform. You’ll get live feedback on your playing. You’ll gain the confidence you want and need to play classical guitar.
I’m looking for some willing and ambitious guitarists who want to join me and take their skills to new heights together.
=> You’re serious about achieving a good level of mastery with Classical Guitar.
=> You understand that this is a product in beta development, and it may have some unpolished moments.

It's never too late to pick up the guitar!
Many adults of all ages have successfully begun learning guitar through in-person lessons, so don't let your age hold you back from exploring this hobby.
In just a matter of weeks, you can become a proficient guitar player and be able to play the music you love at a satisfactory level. So whether you're in your 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, or beyond, you can learn guitar and have fun doing it.
Choosing between an electric guitar and an acoustic guitar is a personal preference and the decision is yours to make.
If you enjoy the sound of an acoustic guitar and listen to music that is played on it, starting with an acoustic guitar may be the best choice for you. However, electric guitars may be easier to play at first, especially if you have small hands or are a beginner. But keep in mind that acoustic guitars can be beneficial for developing proper technique and training your fingers as they require more pressure on the strings.
While electric guitars may be more costly at the beginner level, professional level guitars tend to be priced similarly. Ultimately, the key is to choose a guitar that aligns with the type of music you want to play and keep you motivated to practice.
When beginning to learn guitar, it is crucial to master the proper way of holding the instrument and playing individual notes on the strings.
Mastering these basic elements will establish a solid foundation for all your future guitar playing and help you become comfortable and confident with the instrument. Once you can play individual notes, you can progress to playing chords and more advanced techniques.
Though it may seem daunting initially, regular practice and guidance from a skilled guitar instructor will lead to rapid improvement.
Although learning guitar online is an option, individuals tend to see more success with in-person instruction from a teacher.
Working with a teacher who understands your specific needs and can provide motivation and inspiration can greatly enhance your learning experience. Online resources can be inconsistent, hard to follow and demotivating, so if you have the opportunity to work with a local teacher, it is always worth considering. We are lucky to have experienced teachers here at My Guitar Greatness Lessons.
An experienced guitar teacher can evaluate your abilities and weaknesses, create a lesson plan tailored to your goals and learning style and provide constructive feedback and encouragement. Furthermore, playing music with someone else is much more enjoyable.
Being naturally talented is not a requirement for becoming an excellent musician.
You don't need to have a creative inclination or innate musical talent to learn guitar and appreciate music. Many individuals who initially thought they lacked musical ability have found success and satisfaction in learning to play guitar, even later in life. If you are willing to put in the time and effort, anyone can learn to play the guitar. Do not let your own assumptions hold you back.
It takes relatively little time to begin having fun and playing music on the guitar.
The amount of time it takes to become proficient at playing guitar varies depending on your goals and the amount of practice you put in. With consistent practice, you can learn basic skills such as playing a few songs in as little as a month.
However, if you have more advanced goals like performing your favorite musicians or mastering technique, it may take longer. The key is to enjoy the process of learning guitar, build your confidence and remember that the journey of learning guitar is ongoing and can be very rewarding.

When you're first starting out on the guitar, it's important to learn how to hold the instrument correctly and to play separate notes on the strings.
This will lay the foundation for all your future playing and help you get comfortable with the guitar and being in control of the instrument. Once you know how to play single notes, you can move on to chords and more exciting bits. While it may seem intimidating at first, with consistent practice of a few minutes a day and a good guitar teacher, you'll be surprised at how quickly you can progress.
